-- LCD - Visor vs. Palm V(x) (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=318)
Actually, the Palm IIIx has seen a couple of screens. The screen that everyone complained about the "ghosting" on had a greyish background more like the Palm V's. Then there was the other screen, which had a more greenish tinge. I've used both, and the grey with the Palm OS update or Streak Hack was actually a little easier to read.
I'm looking at a (grey-tinged) IIIx and a preproduction Visor Deluxe right now, and the Visor Deluxe's screen is slightly sharper, with more contrast between the black and the background. Seems about identical to the Palm Vs I've seen.
dmkozak, firstly I'm not a full member anymore! Secondly, I had so far only had a short look on the IIIx vs. V screen. It was in a shop which had a V on display (and a not working IIIx next to it). So I got my IIIx out and had a very brief look..... so there was a slight difference..... more later when my staff gets her V.
Well, questioned about my LCD knowledge I is embarassing to me!
In fact I am selling LCD modules (few 100,000 a year) - but I am not really interested in the technology behind it.
Only so much: If I would get an inquiery from HS, PALM (or whatever) for a PDA LCD I would politely refuse it.
The dot matrix is really very difficult to make and it would be really asking for trouble.
PS: I will look into LCD manufacturing next. I promise!
Hippo, HipHop, whatever-
I can honestly say that from all the posts I've read, the topics in which you participate end up just going over old information.
From what I remember you seemed to be anti-Visor and a troublemaker...
Now you are asking the same old questions - which is OK if you were new to this - but you've been around here long enough and should have a pretty good idea [about the LCD screen]. After you make your misinformed conclusions you retreat after being corrected, and then try to justify your knowledge because [suddenly] you are now a professed LCD Sales expert. Yeah you only sell them, but basic knowledge about PC monitor/display features are all you need.
I can only conclude that based upon your use of the English language it is apparent that you are either immature or uneducated...and if English is your second language then you would have made grammar errors more typical of this. Instead you continue to waste our time with your nonsense.
Don't bother responding as I have spent entirely too much time with you already.
