-- Build Week, Update Patch and an Update on mine... (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=3131)
thanks. perhaps it started very late in Jan...

The serial number for my visor does not fit the pattern of xxxxxWWYYnnnn, where YY is the year and WW is the week of manufacture. For if it did, that would mean my visor was manufacture during the 36th week of 1990. I don't think so
. According to the invoice, my visor was shipped from Handspring Nov 22, 1999, well before the DRAM problem.
Hmm, thinking about it, the format could be xxxxxWWYnnnnn, where Y is only the last digit of the year, thus making my visor the 36th week of 1999, early September. That is reasonable.

My serial number is xxxxx0100xxxx and according to the test program did not have the flaw. When I ran the update it also reported I did not have the flaw. The payment cleared my credit card January 18, 2000.
The middle four of my serial # are 1000. Week 10 of 2000? I bought it at Best Buy in June. I ran the patch and did not need the the DRAM fix. I don't know how long Best Buy had the VDX in stock nor if Handspring had the chance to "fix" it before it shipped out to Best Buy.

Could there possibly be a difference b/w Handspring S/Ns and Retail S/Ns? Mine, from Amazon.com (which is being replaced- wouldn't boot) has 2000 as the #s in the S/N.

That would be week 20 of this year.
Can I ask for replacement?
My new Visor Deluxe got the DRAM problem(s/n:XXXXX200nnnnn),
I bought it from Handspring online service in July-2000, but I'm stay in Hong Kong now, can I ask for replacement?
