-- Crashes on a Prism (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=9545)

I've had my Prism for about a week, and I've already had 2 spontaneous hard resets. In neither case was I doing anything extraordinary; in one case I was simply changing the screen brightness. I switched to a Visor for the backup module, but I wasn't expecting to use it quite so often :P. I've also been getting endless soft resets, often in programs that were rock solid on my PalmIIIx such as Datebook4, again usually doing nothing out of the ordinary. Some programs (Void comes to mind) crash so often that they are almost unusable. Has anyone else noticed this, or can offer suggestions or an explanation? Thanks.

Are you running any hacks like evplugbase or hackmaster?

If you are try removing them and see if your Prism keeps crashing.

Arrow Thud party mayhem

Sounds to me like the problems are being caused by third party apps. I would do a hard reset on the prism and remove your backup folder so that old stuff don't get installed and corrupt the thing. INstall your apps again manually. Instead of using thr backup module. keep in mind that not all apps are compatible with the newer OS.

Hi Valodya,

I had a similar problem when I shifted from a Palm 3c to a Prism. Several of the applications I used on the Palm would not work on my Prism.

There is a thread that discusses apps that don't work on the Prism at this url:

Good luck,

rick

Be careful of doing a hard reset with your Prism. After I had to do one on mine, I had to return the unit to the store because the display didn't reset correctly.
