I use Radio Shack Rechargable NiMH batteries and I get about 2 weeks use usally (8 to 11 hours on-time) Try getting a set, maybe your batteries are old or something like that?

I ordered some e^2 batteries from http://www.batteries.com . Unfortunately, their ASP page broke while processing my CC. I was ordering an 8-pack of AAA's for like $13 + $1 shipping. Maybe a bit pricey, but I don't have to go anywhere to get them. I'll see how they respond to the e-mail I sent them before commenting my official opinion of the place.

I bought a few 4-packs at a Wal-Mart in Magnolia, Arkansas a few days ago. They were selling for $4.17 per pack. I've just recently installed a set in my Visor, so I don't know how they work for me yet...

I bought a 16 pack of e^2's at a Sam's club for 11 bucks. So far, they seem to last longer than the other batteries I have tried.

Does anyone know of a plan or where one could get a USB cradle that would power the Visor. It only makes since, when this thing is in the cradle, it should not run off the batteries, I could rig a few wires into the back of the battery compartment, but sure would be nice if someone made something, maybe a springboard, that would recharge the ni-cads and juice the Visor. This is my biggest peeve with the Visor. Installing new batteries every 2 weeks is really a pain. I'd like to prop the Visor up and use it has a clock, while I am at work.

Any Idea's!

Dad, Can I play your Visor?

I think it is very possible. Innogears has a special craddle that plugs into an outlet and power the Mp3 player Springboard without using the batteries!!!! (I saw it at PCEXPO) Now lets hope that HandSpring wakes up and quenches our Palm V envy when it comes to batteries. I would love to have the ability to recharge my Visor Deluxe just like a Palm V series.

Wink

I'm still using Rechargable Alkaline from Rayovac on my visor. The runtime is about 1 hour, shucks.

This page gotta be the best advertisement I have seen so far to convince me to buy the e^2. Ran over to Duane Reade during lunchtime, can't find 'em. Now, I gotta look for a walmart.

Yeah. What do the demo Visors use in the retail stores? I think they must have some sort of power adapter, or the Visors won't work when people try them, and that would be bad publicity.

I was clocking an average of 13h on the renewal alkalines, the best I got so far was 17h16m on the titanium e2. I still think it's not enough...... i still dream for the 2 day runtime battery.

Post e2 battery life

I just finished my first pair of energizer titanium alkalines on my VDX. They had 22 hrs, 49 minutes of runtime over a period of 16 days. Does this sound about typical from other people who have used them? Perhaps I did not necessarily need to change them when I did - the voltage was down to around 1.3, but I suspect it would soon have begun to drop off rapidly. Thoughts?

Thumbs up e2 results

My first set of e2's lasted 8d 17:26
with a runtime of 1d 02:27

Just out of curiosity, how low did you let them go before changing the batteries?

I don't usually pay attention to the Runtime voltage graph, but it looks like the line dipped to 2.1. (not sure if that's correct...)

I tend to push it a lot, and don't change the batteries until I get the battery warning every few minutes or it turns itself off. (I didn't let it turn off this time - I didn't want to take that chance with a battery that I've never used before.) Of course, I always have a spare set ready before I do this.

No, I wouldn't recommend this for everybody - I don't want anyone screaming at me if they lose their information. This is just part of the relationship between me and my Visor. I've done this since the beginning, so it's used to the abuse.
