Gethightech.com,
Just be aware that replacing parts on your own usually voids the manufacturers warranty. If a unit with "non-standard" parts is received for repair, you will have difficulty getting it repaired by the manufacturer.
As long as everyone knows the risks...

Great point! We have warning all over our web page. But then again so far most of the manufacturers dont warranty a broken screen anyways. Yes even opening your unit will void the warranty. We are trying to get visor parts but not much at this time.

My concern that if someone replaces their screen, then sends the unit in for a different reason, the warranty will not be honored.
Just a thought...
BTW, you probably won't be able to get any Visor parts anytime soon...since component shortages are hitting everyone hard. They also haven't been around that long, so there's not much of a "secondary" market.
Pricing will also be an issue in the Visor area, since the cost for a replacement unit is $85. With Palm, your pricing is competitive, since they charge $100 (or did last time I had a repair).
Thanks for the informative discussion!

Queen of Parts
Last Thursday (July 27) the movers were supposed to arrive to take my stuff to California (they didn't, but fortunately the guy who had the elevator on Friday cancelled so I rescheduled for the next day), my Visor Deluxe stopped hotsynching, and I chipped a tooth.
Being unable to do without email access for the next two weeks (since my desktop was packed away) I ran out and got a new one at Staples. I'll deal with the broken Visor after I'm settled in; I think the warranty should hold.
So, while the old Visor can't really be called dead, it's certainly in the emergency room.
