-- Will a Visor Solo and a Serial Cradle HotSync? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=170)
I use NT on my PC and am curious if a Visor Solo and the optional Serial cradle would Hotsysnc to my NT PC. Would some additional software be needed? Is the only way to Hotsync to a NT PC with a Visor with USB cradle and the serial cradle? I don't have much of a use for the USB cradle. Thanks for any help.
Rhino:
Let me lay this out for you. If you're going to sync up to anything other than one of the following:
1. Win98
2. Win2000
3. Mac 8.0 or higher
Then you're most likely going to need a serial connected cradle. You won't need any extra software just hook up your cradle, load up the NT 4 machine with the included apps (Visor Desktop PIM and hotsync software), and you're in business.
Although I would ask them if the Visor Solo comes with all the software, my suspicion is that it doesn't. You need the software to make the cradle talk to your machines.

Yes, but the desktop software is available for download from the Palm Pilot website. Go grab it from there, and you're in business.

That's only if the desktop software for the Visor is identical to the Palm software. Yes, it's supposed to be the same, but I would want to be certain first.
