Visor Village New Forum

Well, they did it. Visor Village has changed its message board/ discussion forum format and it now looks more like, yes, you guessed it... Visor Central!

Not that there is anything wrong with changing to this format, but in doing so Visor Village, in fact all the PDA Street message boards, just kissed off all the currently active threads, as well as older threads which many of us would search for answers, before starting a new thread which requested basically the same information.

What makes me kind of mad is that I received no notice of what they were doing and I even had to re-register! I think they will lose a lot of their users.

In fact, now that there is not much difference between these boards, will one or the other become dominant, with the majority of users sticking with one and not the other?

What do you think of the new Visor Village Forum format and how they went about making this change? Will you be a dual user or stick mainly with one or the other?

Talking

I've visited VisorVillage before a few times, and I still think that they can't beat VisorCentral, in terms of content in anyway (by VC staff or by forum members).

VisorCentral is where I go for anything on the HANDSPRING VISOR. NUMBER ONE. Period.

It looks almost IDENTICAL to PalmVenue's message boards.

They did lose a lot of useful discussions, but I hope it helps with the moderation side. There were far too many posts related to illegally-obtained software--requests, "advertisements," etc.--and the people who posted that kind of stuff just thumbed their noses at the moderators and kept it up. If they were banned under a particular name, they would just re-register under another name and continue.
