-- Best "belt clip" case? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=3653)

Question

What is the best case for the Visor that clips to your belt?

If you have a preferance, what is it about your favorite that makes it stand out?

I am a new user of the Visor and have nightmares of leaving it on the table after lunch etc.

Thanks for your help... Great forum!

I have nothing else to judge it by, but I really like my RHODIANA. I took the advice gleaned from other users here at VC and am very happy with the looks, features and durability. CS is exceptional, the only complaint I had(belt clip broke) was addressed immeadiately and I had a new clip mechanism in my hands in two days. It is a quality product and I'm glad to have it. If you do order one, make sure and use the snaps to add/remove your Visor

I also have nothing else to compare it to, but I am extremely pleased with my Rhodiana case. It's very functional, well designed and manufactured, and looks great too. I am not really into the belt clip thing (I've always found it too geekish for my taste) but this case is so nice that I don't mind clipping it on. Definitely a five star product.

Count me in as well. I love my Rhodiana. This is a quality product, the stiching and workmanship is top notch.

I also like the straps on the back that allow the unit to cling to your hand.

I would spend the extra $2 for the lexan insert, though.

I am quite happy with "ThePouch" (www.thepouch.com). Their webpage isn't too impressive, but the case is really nice. My favorite feature is the clip itself. It is not a belt clip, but rather a hooking loop. It is a short piece of strap which has a 3m clip on it (which is VERY secure). I keep lots of "toys" on my belt, and must say that many clips have a tendency to fly off when you sit down or bump into something (my Diamond Rio 300 does it all the time). Those with loops on them stay on, but require removing your belt to put them on. I like ThePouch as it allows you to put it on without removing your belt.

It is made of a nice cushy neoprene and has a full stiffed front flap secured with velcro. Also has a flat pouch in the back which I believe is big enough to hold a few springboards without adding to the size significantly.

Check it out. The guys there are really nice. I think I was one of the first to buy a pouch from them for the Visor (I bought it back in November I think).

And since I've had it since November and worn it daily, I can attest that it stands up to torture!

Their photos aren't too accurate. The clip can be seen on the left. The actual case is not like the one on the right, but more like that middle picture, with a full front flap.

Rhodiana:
Plusses-
-Good protection while using Visor
-Excellent design (I love the elastic straps on the back)
-Belt clip mechanism is spiffy
-quiet in use
Minuses-
-Pricey
-Occasional need to rotate Visor while sitting
-Even w/ lexan insert, if you bump a tablecorner or something you might bust your screen

"The Pouch"
Plusses-
-price-effective
-large belt loop lets you slide pouch up when sitting- happens quite smoothly
-belt loop clasp is secure and handy for on/off
-If you use the Handspring plastic cover in combination w/ Pouch, superior "on the hip" protection from bumps
-pocket on back is great for spare batteries and springboards
Minuses-
-Velcro flap closure announces to all that you've opened your Pouch
-Provides zero protection while you are using the device, since you remove the Visor
from the Pouch to use it. After a drop, this was the kicker that pushed me from The Pouch to the Rhodiana.

Now if I could just find a 2xAAA flashlight key fob to carry spare batteries, I'd be set.

One vote for Rhodiana here. (saving the pouch for belt-carrying the Stowaway)

The EB slipper has my vote. I keep in on my belt under my lab coat. I feel secure in knowing it's there. But I, like others, have nothing to compare this too. I've thought about getting a Rhodiana. Haven't plunged yet. (justified having two cases)

I have purchased the Rhodiana and I am very please with the protection that it provides. The quality is excellent and I enjoy using my visor while in the case. Removal of the visor is also an easy task. The only draw back would be if I were to use a SB that extended past the visor itself. I haven't use the belt clip yet.

Ditto on the Rhodiana case. I had started out with a Rhinoskin Shocksuit, which fell apart after about 2 months of use. The only problem I had with the Rhodiana was the clip that broke, which they quickly replaced for me. Two thumbs up for an excellent product and for great customer service!
