-- Nokia 8290 --> Handspring Visor (Via Cable?) (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=14721)
Is there a cable method of connecting the handspring visor to the nokia 8290?
I know you can use it via infra red, however, it doesn't help much when you want to go wireless in the car.
Thanks in advance
Kind of
I found a website that has a data cable for the 8290
http://www.cellularaccessory.com/datcab82celp1.html
But it only has a serial port. If there was some kind of adaptor to go from serial to a Visor or Palm I think it would work.
The problem with this phone is there is no where for the data cable to plug into. According to the info the cable attaches to where your battery goes.

Wow, that is one ugly product.
I think that the cable above is actually a data cable JUST for ring tones and logos.
Not for actual data. Unfortunately I think this is not possible to connect a true data cable to the 8290. According to Nokia, the bottom ports of the 8290 are not enabled for data and can only be used for 2 purposes:
1) charging
2) headset
Can anyone confirm?
This site may help
You could try this site... www.gomadic.com. They seem to be a wireless consulting company, although the do advertise some Visor to mobile phone cables. They may have what you're looking for.
