-- Multiple Locations for Synching (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=10784)
Can a Visor Synch to more then one device?
For example, user has desktop with outlook2k using Exchange 5.5 as mail server. User also has laptop. Can user setup synch and move from visor to laptop and update outlook *.ost file on laptop? Laptop will have abilities to dialin/or connect via network to exchange box.?
Does anyone have:
1) A clue if this will work?
2) Is is NOT work it and just get modem & POTS line & Setup RAS link to network and dekstop for visor and keep laptop out of synch routine?
3) Can you synch more the one user to a machine?
4) Can you synch user to more then one machine
a) on network?
b) as standalones?
Oh, have been testing palm. Much superior to any windows CE based things. QuickOffice works as well as PocketMirror Pro without any issues.
Yes. Maybe.
I sync at home with the Palm desktop application, and sync at work with Outlook on a win98 desktop. Seems to work fine. Outlook is a little hard to figure out if you're familiar to the Palm application, but it works. I particularly like the email feature. I stick my Visor in it's cradle at work, press the button, then all my waiting mail is downloaded to it. I can then take it to class (I'm a college professor) and work on the email when I have any free time during the day. At the end of the day, back in my office, the email syncs back and any replies get sent on their way. Any meetings I've added at work get sync'd to my PC at home. It's nice in that my wife can check the desktop application to see where I am during the day, even though I've got my Visor with me.

DBrown,
That is what I want to do. I want to use palm at home and outlook at work. How do I keep the 2 seperate and how do I do the outlook sync?

Pocketmirror was not required. I simply installed off the same Handspring CD that came with my Visor at both places. When prompted at home I selected the PALM desktop synching option, and said NO to the email prompt. At work, I selected Outlook (which was already my default email application) and said YES to the email prompt. The install CD did the rest.
Works for me.
