Question

I bought the backup module today and was shocked to find out that there was no case for it! I imagined it would probably come in something like the old gameboy/gamegear modules did, but no.

Anyone come up with clever solutions for protecting it when it isn't in the visor? I'm guessing plastic anything is out due to the potential of static electricity build up that could fry the chip.

As you said, I've heard that Gameboy cases work well with the visor.
Hope this helps

For alittle more protection, cut some dense packing foam (like that found on the inside of some mail packages) into strips about 0.75" wider than a module. Lay a module on one of the strips, and roll so that you know where to cut the strip - give yourself enough of a flap to completely cover the module. Now fold the cut strip (again leaving enough for a flap), and staple and/or glue the sides of the stip to each other. Pop in your module, and secure the flap with a rubber band. Yeah. It's ugly . . .

BTW. Hang on to the little plastic sleeves that the modules come in. They give you some extra dust/dirt protection with no added bulk.

Gameboy cases are one of the best suggestions I've come across. They leave just a little room around the edges, but I have no worries about damage to my module. Order them straight from the Nintendo site. Think it was $7 for 10 or so.

Now, if I just had more springboards

Mike

I'll send you $3.50 for half of those cases.

Thanks Jon, but my daughter got dibs...she needed some for her GB cartridges and I'm holding back 3 in hopes that I will be able to fill them someday
