-- Hard reset when changing batteries (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=11700)
After replacing the batteries on my VDX, the Palm screen blinks and forces me to erase all of my data before the machine will function again. Thankfully I use the Backup module, but if I haven't backed up immediately prior to replacing the batteries (my fault), I lose some data. Has this happened to anybody else?
Thanks,
John
How long does it take you to change the batteries?
The Visor has a capacitor that should store enough charge to sustain the memory for a minute or so while you change batteries. If you're changing them at a more leisurely pace, then it's possible that you're just taking too long, but if you have the new bateries ready to go and inserted within a few seconds of removing the old ones, then it's possible that your unit is defective.
