Maybe one of you guys can help me with this. After waiting well over two months, I finally got my Vdx. I was particularly impressed with AvantGo. Well, for about 2 days hotsync worked, but then it stopped. Nothing had changed on either my compuer or the visor - it simply stopped working.

I tried resetting the visor, reinstalling my PCI USB card, reinstalling all drivers and software, and ran through all the ckecklists. I finally called tech support, and a guy who spoke almost no english had my modify and delete some registry things and it still wouldnt work. The tech rep only said he didn't know what was wrong, but call this number: (he proceded to give me the exact same number I had just called). I am very impressed with the visor as a product but Handspring is doing a terrible job with its customers.

Here is what happens: I place the visor in the cradle, push the hotsync button, and the visor says "Connecting to computer" or whatever. That is it. It never gets any further than that. Computer dosent even acknowledge that the visor is there. The thing that freaks me out is that it worked fine, and then just stopped.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! (All software is configured correctly)

Are you running any hacks or overclocking software? Was it working fine until you loaded a new program? Sometimes you have to do a warm reset, ie. paperclip and upscroll button simultaneously.

Same exact problem - only mine never worked! Have tried all kinds of fixes, but none have worked. By chance, are you running Windows 98?

Try a "soft reset" and then sync. That usually works. Then see the other postings on this web board about syncing problems.

Mine did the same thing. I had to do a total "hard" reset by taking out the batteries. I'm not sure if the next step is necessary but I did a hard reset with the batteries out to clear the reserve that allows you to swap batteries without losing data. I then re-installed the batteries and everything was like it was when I got the Visor. Note, that I beleive by problems stated when I started messing with IR software.

I have exactly the same problem. After 35 days of use, it just won't sync. Sometimes the soft reset will let it work, but after the computer and the Visor are turned off, the same problem reappears. Any ideas?
