-- My first Hard Reset!!! (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=2695)
My IVDx has been humming along so nicely for the past 79 days then all of a sudden, poof! As I started to HotSync tonight, a DateBook alarm went off and the Visor locked up. No problem, I said... unscrew the stylus tip and head for the reset hole. After several minutes of inactivity and having stared at the Palm Computing logo for too long, I noticed a small blinking square in the upper left corner of the screen.
Puzzled, I did another soft reset... same results. Now I'm panicking... Let's try a warm reset. Same thing. Now, at this point, I don't know whether to scream, cry, or go eat dinner. Praying that BackupBuddy has been working properly, I did a hard reset and said a prayer or two.
Viola! Mr. Ice came back to life... it then HotSync'd just fine and all my data and applications were restored. Of course, I lost all of today's work but I can live with that.
After several minutes of panic, I have regained my exposure and thought I'd just tell my tale of woe to my fellow VC compatriates.
Now if I could only figure out what went wrong...

MarkEagle - Ice is nice!
Well that was quite a run before your first hard reset. I went 1 week, but then I had a rash of them every other night. Finally got a new one last week and no prob since.

Rose's are Red
My Visor is Blue....
Reality check for anyone wondering about these posts about Handspring Visor Deluxe crashes and soft/hard resets:
My HVD has been flogged more than anyone's, I'll wager. 12+ hours a day humping between hospital rounds and clinic in another location, with countless workouts with reference texts and drug data programs, calculations, and record-keeping. Not one "crash" or reset. Not one.
Non-Platinum programs? Caveat emptor. There may be a lot of nasty bugs hidden in these things, and I prescribe safe sex. If crashes occur, suspect abuse first.
