Ok,

I'm getting really sick of soft reseting my Visor everytime I want to do a USB hotsync.

The culprit appears to be some Hack that I have installed, but I've not been able to narrow it down.

Is anyone aware of any particular hacks that cause USB Syncing (or more specifically USB under Win2000) to fail consistently.

I use a lot of hacks, but would be willing tog et rid of of couple if it meant not having to reset everytime I want to hotsync.

If anyone is aware of particular hacks, I would be willing to maintain a page w/ a list of them or whatever.

TIA

Are you using Hackmaster or EVPlugBase? EVPlugBase will not allow you to hotsynch when the hotsynch app is called up on the visor on any USB Hotsynch. But it will hotsynch fine when you are on any screen but the hotsynch screen on your visor.

If you are using hackmaster, then disable all you hacks and hotsynch. Then install one hack at a time until you find the culprit.

Also, don't start yet another site - - use the software incompatiblity list on VC!

Red face

I found that the latest version of EVPlugBase would cause a reset after one hotsync, even if no hacks were installed. I'd reset and the next hotsync would work. Try to do another one and it would crash, requiring a reset. Removed EVPlugBase and all was well. Now I'm using Hackmaster, but preferred the UI of EVPlugBase.

I find the most problematical hack is Launch 'em, which occasionally requires a hard reset. It doesn't happen often, but often enough so that I'm concerned about keeping it on the visor if I'm traveling and can't sync or backup regularly. Maybe an upgade to a new version will help.
