Neo Screen vs DLX Screen

Do the Neo and DLX have the same screen? I have the guts of a neo in a dlx with the old DLX screen. Would I gain any benefits from swapping an actual NEO screen into this setup?

I enjoyed my Deluxe for a long time. Have been using a Neo for several months and I have to say the screen is better (clearer).

Interestingly, though, the Neo and the Platinum have the same specs. However, I found the Platinum screen to be more like the Deluxe. ??

I'm not talking about huge differences but enough to be noticeable.

But, gee, if you were able to swap the insides, go for the screen too. (Is it difficult to do?)

So you think the NEO screen is clearer? Could that possibly be that because the Neo OS can actually show 4 bit grayscale? (Is that correct), I know that the deluxe had a lower level of grey scale than other Palm devices.

Does anyone think that switching the actual physical SCREEN would make a difference, beyond the benifits I have gotten from switching the motherboard??

Maybe the best thing is to ask yourself if the current screen is good. Did you get improvement in visibility by swapping the inside? If you did, then the screen is probably the same or similar.

Of course, that doesn't address my puzzle with the Platinum vs. Neo visibility. But, for your purposes that's a separate issue.

Or, if it is no big deal to do, why not swap the screen anyway. Then you can have a semi-slick Deluxe or a semi-good feel Neo.

I agree that the only thing I'd change on my Neo is the case. The blue color is okay buy its not that comfy Deluxe blue and the materials are worlds apart. Don't think I was ever so concerned with fingerprints, etc. with my old Deluxe. But, hey, really it's a small point.

I'm a huge Neo fan. Just haven't found anything in its class that can touch it.

Ebook readers like AAA batteries especially when they last as long as the Neo's. Who wants to recharge in the middle of a good read?
