Keyboards for Prism
I just got a handy dandy visor prism to replace my broken VDX. I have a GOTYPE keyboard that I used for the deluxe. I did not like the Gotype because the keys were not full sized, I am interested in the Targus Stow away keyboards. However, the Prism does not fit into my Gotype keyboard. Does anyone have the same problem? I went to staples and CompUSA, they have keyboards for Visors, I assume they fit the prism, Do they? I also considered the Seiko thumbboard but their drivers conflict with some applications. Everyone seems to have the same price for Targus Stow aways. On Ebay, they are still going for over their value, when you factor in shipping and other charges.
Well my Question is What does everyone Use?
and How do you like it?

The Gotype keyboard is just so big and yet so small. It does not fit in my pocket and the keys are not full sized. I think I will go with the Stow away. but at $100, they should throw in some free stuff, software, etc for that price.

I used a Stowaway with my Deluxe and I loved it. I just replaced the Deluxe with a Prism but I haven't used the keyboard yet. But the websites say it will fit, so I'm hoping it will.

buy.com Has the Stowaway for $85 but shipping brings the cost back up to normal.

Bite the bullet and get the Stowaway. For the quality of manufacturing and what it does, $99 is a bargin.
At least with the Stowaway you know you are not paying $100 mostly for a $5 molded plastic shell and $3 of electronic components!
stowaway
I have the stowaway. It is cool. Others are dinky and cheap. You'll sleep at night knowing someone didn't make bookoos of money off of you (just a lot of money
)
Check the For Sale section...
I just sold one a week ago for $55 shipped. There are other deals out there.

I cannot rave enough about my Stowaway. I am on my second one, the first being fried by a cola and coffee shower. (Don't ask) The feel and size is like the best notebook KB, and once you collapse it down and stuff it into a pocket or backpack, you won't miss a notebook.
sledgehammer
I own a Stowaway as well and i'll have to agree with these guys, it's great. I have been using it on my bed while watching tv at night so i can type term papers and such on my visor. and the wow factor is a 12/10

I've got a Stowaway as well. It's great. I've got a 3.5 hour class at nights and I use my Prism + Stowaway to take notes. I also use it to take notes out of the book. Given its light weight and small size (folded) I think it is well worth the $100.
It's also got a great "cool" factor =)
Thanks for the info, and opinions. I ordered a stowaway that I found right here on the boards should be arriving sooon.

Aw... I didn't get a chance to say anything about my HalfKeyboard... It's got twice the cool factor of the stowaway... Oh well.

How well can you type with it? I like the stowaway because it is a full keyboard. I didn't have to get used to a different typing concept. The aritcles I've read about the halfkeyboard say it's very nice for leasure typing but its hard to touch type.

I just remembered. A great way to test out the mechanics of the Halfkeyboard without purchasing one is to download thier sample program from the website. At www.halfkeyboard.com they have a small .exe that lets you try the one handed typing out on your own computer. It won't give you an idea of the build quality of the unit like holding the actual keyboard will... but it will do a great job of showing how natural the mechanics of one handed typing can actually be.

Lag time Could be Because of Hacks
I have a stowaway and used to have a similar lag time on it- I finally discovered it was because of the BatteryLog Hack, which I have since deleted. No problems anymore.
BTW, the Stowaway is great, I love typing 60-80 wam in class taking lecture notes!
