Unhappy This is a sad day

Although I like Handspring it is imperative Palm continue to prosper and develop its OS. Hopefully they will be relisted. It's also sad that CNet and 3Com also lost their listings .

The Nasdaq-100 shouldn't be confused with the Nasdaq Composite Index, which is the one commonly meant to when people refer to "The Nasdaq". It measures all Nasdaq domestic and non-US based common stocks, not just the 100 largest.
Don't be confused. PALM has not been unlisted. It has only dropped out of the 100 largest (non-financial) stocks listed on Nasdaq.

No action has been taken against PALM, it's just not in the top 100 anymore.

Uh...I'm not confused. I am well aware of the differences between the composite index and the Nasdaq-100 listings. I don't believe Palm can be booted off the composite index unless their stock falls below $1.00.

Still, this is terribly sad for Palm. Certainly a fall from grace.

It will be even sadder for them once Handspring's market cap exceeds Palm's. It could happen.

Foo, I didn't mean you were confused, I should have quoted Techie2000 who posted:

Techie is the one I was trying to help out since it seemed like s/he thought PALM had been delisted.

BTW, here's a page at Nasdaq's website that lists requirements for initial and continued listings. However I've been told that since Nasdaq makes money off of listings, it rarely drops companies unless they've been way under the requirements for a long time (90+ days).
