-- Crazy Glue on my Visor...help! (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=1128)

Red face

Don't ask how, but some crazy glue attached itself to the back of my Visor. I rubbed it off before it had a chance to dry, but it left a white stain on the black plastic. Anyone know how to get rid of this white stain, or should I call Bill Clinton.

Thanks,
Adam

Acetone will dissolve cyanoacrylics (superglue) but it's also a very good solvent for the plastic as well.

Depending on severity that might never come out.

Try acetic acid (white vinegar). It might work, but no guarentees. Try it on the back of your battery compartment first.

Loctite and other Cyanoacrylate manufacturers offer "SuperGlue Remover" style products.

Availability on display racks alongside the SuperGlue is spotty.

Good Luck.

Cool

Thanks alot, the white vinegar did the trick. I think they should sell this stuff in the hardware stores.

May be next week we'll have a topic on how to build a deck or something.

Cool

I got crazy glue on my visor as well. I tried white vinegar but unfortunately it did not have any effect. The only solution i could offer that helped was dipping your visor in gasoline and then lighting it.

Please Note: the super glue disolved, but the visor was left unusable.

Good Luck : - )

Thumbs up

Molten lava, albeit a little hard to find, should do also do the trick.
