ThumBoard - Anybody tried it?

Just found this featured on the Handspring site. Seiko have a keyboard for the Visor called the ThumBoard ($39.99 from PalmGear, $49.99 from Seiko!).

http://www.palmgear.com/hs/products...amp;prodcatID=6

http://www.seiko-austin.com/cgi-bin...040301&i=21

Has anyone tried it? I've been waiting for the EtherAge ClipKee (http://www.etherage.com/) to come out, but this looks as good.

Any comment appreciated.

I just wonder, it covers the grafitti area completely. Will it have everything you need?

New Seiko keyboard

A small keyboard (they are popping up everywhere) for the Visor and the Palm V. The Palm one is slightly smaller than the one for the Visor: 2.6 x 3.8 x 1" vs 3 x 3.8 x 1"
Details for Vx
Details for Visor

I have been holding out for the ClipKee but this looks like it is just as good or better. And it is available today.

The ThumBoard looks slightly bigger than the ClipKee but that may be a good thing. I like the fact that the ThumBoard has rubber keys. The ThumBoard also looks more professional.

Are there any reviews on this keyboard?

The Sieko web site states that this keyboard is compatible with Visor Deluxe but the PalmOS version required is 3.5H2 or higher. My VDX is loaded with 3.1. Will this keyboard still be compatible with my VDX?

I guess you'll have to ask Seiko, or the company you are buying it from. It is annonced on the Handspring site as suitable for the VdX so I assume it will be!

No Prism

Rats, it does not fit my Prism. The info says it is meant to remain on the unit. Does this mean it is not easy to take off?

and how are you supposed to HoySync? I was tempted, but I'll think I'll wait for the ClipKee or the SnapNType.

Any chance of somebody at VC doing a review of these? They all seem to be a much of a muchness, be nice to get a comparision.

I couldn't find any information stating that ClipKee or Snap N Go will support HotSync while the keyboard is attached. It is my assumption that the keyboard would need to be removed prior to hotsync for any solution offered.

Reviews of these keyboards would be appreciated.

It apperas to me that the product is MADE to replace graffiti. The official website paints the picture of leaving it on. That said, I doubt it will be hard to get on and off, becuase also on the site it says something to the likes of take it off anytime... sooo

Question SnapNType v. ThumBoard

Handspring appears to be selling a ThumBoard http://www.palmgear.com/hs/products...amp;prodcatID=6 and VC seems to be hawking a SnapNType http://www.visorcentral.com/page/0-2-1127-2.htm . A review would be great.

Lightbulb Please mini-keyboard reviews

I think mini-keyboards are like buses, you wait for ages and then two turn up at once. I have been wishing for these to be released for months. Problem now, which one??!!! I too vote for a quick and extensive review of these products. I need one that works with YadaYada's Minstrel Wirelesss modem. I just want one now, but don't want to get the wrong one.

Here's one from fellowes, I saw it in CompUSA. If memory serves me, it has a flat keyboard like one of my Atari computers did.

If ya' wanna change the batteries on the Visor Solo, Deluxe, Platinum, or Neo, the keyboards have to come off, no?

If I get one it is going to have to be the Snap-n-Type, since I have a Prism. It is the only one specified as being compatible with my Prism...

ThumBoard en route

I ordered a ThumBoard, and it shipped today via UPS Ground. Check back here in a week and I will post a review (unless, of course, somebody beats me to it).

Well, it doesn't matter to me. A buddy of mine just offered me his Stowaway - barely used - for $45. A full sized keybpoard for the same price as these little ones. I can't beat that... And it is more appropriate to use at conferences and such - can type into the Prism and then jot down extra notes on the side - without having to constantly pick up and put down my Prism...
