Prism USB cradle on notebook
Hello,
I'm using a Compaq Armada V300 notebook at work, where the USB cradle fro my Prism was connected to the one USB port on this notebook. That always worked without problems.
Recently I got a port replicator, aka dockingstation, for this notebook, equiped with two USB ports.
However, when connecting the cradle to one of these USB ports on the dockingstation the sync fails ("cannot establish a connection"), so apparently the cradle has a problem with this dockingstation USB port....
I suspect there's a small USB Hub in the dockingstation, because the dockingstation has two USB ports, where the notebook itself just has one. Maybe the cradle has a problem with that?
Does anybody has an idea about this? Possible solutions?
Maybe I should try a serial cradle?
Thanks in advance.
Docking station
Do other USB devices work in those external USB connectors? You may have to run a patch upgrade from Compaq to enable the externals, etc.
Perhaps a bios upgrade for the laptop. I used to work on Compaqs quite a bit, and they usually have some sort of software that has to be installed with either their port replicators or docking stations.
Cheers!
