In the final review, I would appreciate real pictures, and comments on how the up/down button jogdial features work (and how well...)

i'm curious of what the chances are of think outside making a stowaway for the treo line. is this just a stupid idea because it "already" has a keyboard?

i use my visor mostly for word processing long documents. without a stowaway, i'd consider pretty much any pda useless. i'm just wondering what others think of the lack of this.

I misunderstood your comment. I thought you were referring to an actual jog dial, of which the 90 is exempt.

well, things are looking up! remember, back in the day, when buying a visor deluxe was a no-brainer over a 3xe.

so tho is this over the m130. why buy an m130 whit a non-transfective screen, no free copy of wordsmith and comparitivly chunky to boot? plus, HS seems to have redeemed themselves with this nice new windowed flip.. the old visor screen covers blew.

I'm with you mc. I'd rather skip the tiny keyboard, use my stylus on a bigger screen and clip on the stowaway for REAL typing.

I'm pretty attached to my visor platinum, and would like to get a few toys for it, like the visor phone. But it appears that handspring will be dumping the visor platform, which puts doubt into investing more on my very handy platinum.

I can give you a reason why I would buy an m130 over a Treo90. I want to actually be able to use the expansion port for something other than backup and storage. That's what I have Hotsync for. I originally bought my Prism because of the Springboard slot. Springboard was mutli-functional. Now it's defunct. I refuse to buy another expansion technology from Handspring until they actually show me that it's going somewhere.

Yes, the Treo90 appears to be a nicer product, but if Handspring is going over to SD/MMC then I want to see full support before I lay my money down. Until such a day arrives, I will get by with my Treo90 substitute (Prism/Memplug SD/MMC/Stowaway & Thinmodem+). What? No modem for a Treo90?

That's why I am waiting at least 6 months to a year before I even consider buying anything like the Treo 90, Look where the Prism & Edge were a year after they were introduced..

If nothing else, it will be cheaper later..

Another (painful) thing I have learned is don't hold your breath for some wizz bang feature to be included in a future upgrade, unless it has it when you purchase it, the odds are very unlikely it will be added down the road (i.e. SD i/o on the Treo 90) some *failed* examples of this are; MMC support on the GEODE, Minijam's ability to store palm programs and data on the MMC cards, etc.. need I go on with these unfulfilled empty promises.. )

Treo 90 impressions

My friend just bought and received a Treo 90 and I had the opportunity to do a hands on test. I'd like to say that I was very impressed - but I can't. I found it to be flimsy feeling. The visibility in daylight was marginally (if that much) improved over the Prism. Colors appeared totally washed out. The smaller screen size and lack of a graffiti option were both disappointing. Dropping the springboard option was a blow to those of us that have followed and upgraded within the Visor family. The difference between 12 and 16 bit color is very obvious in the faded appearance of colors. Why Handspring chose to keep an antiquated 160x160 resolution is baffling. Overall, it seemed a no-brainer to me to advise my friend to return it and buy a Sony or other comparable product. Any other impressions out there?
