The Future?
Michael brings us a first look at what the Treo 90 really is all about.

Hmm...I guess this is a lot better than the month you were expecting to wait earlier!
In the final review, I would appreciate real pictures, and comments on how the up/down button jogdial features work (and how well...)

i'm curious of what the chances are of think outside making a stowaway for the treo line. is this just a stupid idea because it "already" has a keyboard?
i use my visor mostly for word processing long documents. without a stowaway, i'd consider pretty much any pda useless. i'm just wondering what others think of the lack of this.

Q. Why didn't you include a rocker switch like the rest of the Treo family?
A. While the rocker switch is very effective for one-handed use with the Treo communicators, it is not a necessary addition for the Treo 90 organizer. Instead, we added the extra functionality to the up and down scroll buttons at the bottom of the device to enable such features as scrolling through the Launcher application by application, launching the selected application by pushing the space bar, and scrolling through your To Do list and checking off items with a push of the space bar.

Quite all right. I though the "up/down button jogdial features" would be enough to determine what I was talking about.
No big deal, though.

well, things are looking up! remember, back in the day, when buying a visor deluxe was a no-brainer over a 3xe.
so tho is this over the m130. why buy an m130 whit a non-transfective screen, no free copy of wordsmith and comparitivly chunky to boot? plus, HS seems to have redeemed themselves with this nice new windowed flip.. the old visor screen covers blew.

Treo 90 impressions
My friend just bought and received a Treo 90 and I had the opportunity to do a hands on test. I'd like to say that I was very impressed - but I can't. I found it to be flimsy feeling. The visibility in daylight was marginally (if that much) improved over the Prism. Colors appeared totally washed out. The smaller screen size and lack of a graffiti option were both disappointing. Dropping the springboard option was a blow to those of us that have followed and upgraded within the Visor family. The difference between 12 and 16 bit color is very obvious in the faded appearance of colors. Why Handspring chose to keep an antiquated 160x160 resolution is baffling. Overall, it seemed a no-brainer to me to advise my friend to return it and buy a Sony or other comparable product. Any other impressions out there?
