-- Tech Problems with SoundsGood Module (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=13717)
I just received my SoundsGood module from Palmgear but I cannot connect the module to the Good Desktop software to upload music to my Visor. I can sync with my Visor using my cradle & cable using my USB port so I know it's not a hardware problem. I also tried rebooting my computer & my Visor but no luck. I tap on the "connect" button & I get the message on my Visor, "You are not connected, waiting for desktop". I tried calling Good Technology but I can't seem to get anyone there to answer their phones. Has anyone encountered this problem with their module? Any suggestions? I'm anxious to start using this cool springboard!! Thanks in advance.
Desktop Program Running
Are you running the desktop program when you are connecting? I'm pretty sure it has to be running when you connect.
Yes, the desktop program is running when I try to connect.
If re-installing the good desktop doesn't work, you might have gotten a defective module. Try e-mailing tech support 1st though. Good has always responded to my e-mails and I have been really happy with the product. Yes I know it is a pain to send it back, but this module is worth it! When you do get it working, do yourself a favor and start ripping your cd's @ 96kps. You will get a lot more listening time in. The energy clip is a must have also. Good luck...

Thanks for the advice. I've already e-mail Good last night & I haven't received anything back yet. I will try re-installing the software again to see if it will connect. Wish me luck!!
Looks like re-installing the desktop software didn't help at all. I called Palmgear this morning & they asked me to return the unit & they will send another one out to me. It sounded like this is a common problem since the guy on the phone said that he "knows about the problem". So if you ordered a unit from Palmgear recently & you can't upload any music, don't be surprise!! I'll keep everyone posted when I receive the new unit from Palmgear. Thanks for everyone's suggestions so far.

I'm glad to hear that your unit is working properly. Maybe the new unit that PG sends me will work. I did tap "connect" on the Visor but could not get a connection; therefore, I didn't even get a chance to click "move" on the desktop software.

I tried that in the order you mentioned. First I tapped the "connect" button on the Visor. It gave me the message as stated earlier on the Visor. Then I clicked the "Move" button on the desktop software & I got the message "Move It must be connected to the Visor. Please be sure the Visor is in its cradle and the Good Connect application is running, then try again". By the way, Good finally e-mailed me back today with a troubleshooting document & a Visor firmware to install. When I get my new unit from PG & it still doesn't work, I'll try out the suggestions from Good.
IT WORKS
I received a new module from Palmgear & at first, I had the same problem with connection between the Visor & the Good Desktop software. After talking to the technical support rep. at Palmgear about this, we figured that it was the version of Palm Desktop & Hotsync manager that was causing all the problem. Everyone using the current version of Good Desktop (version 1.0) should know that it is NOT compatible with the newest versions of Palm Desktop (4.0.1) & Hotsync manager (version 4.0). I re-installed the Handspring Desktop (version 3.1) & Hotsync manager (Version 3.1.1) & I was able to get my connection. Just thought I share this with everyone & thanks for everyone's input to this issue.
I reckon it should be compatible with Palm Desktop 4.0 and Hotsync Manager 3.1.1H?
