-- Are all these resets normal? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=2792)
Every time I remove a springboard module, my VD turn on but freezes up. When I install the new module, I have to do a reset in order to get the unit back up and running. Sometimes when I change batteries, the same thing happens. Is this normal?
Daniel
What module(s) are you using? They shouldn't be causing what you describe... they're supposed to be "Plug and Play".

I have the 8MB flash module and the backup module. It does not matter what application I am in (a built it, one in internal memory, or one in flash) or if the unit is on or off. If I unplug a module, the unit comes on (if it is off) and freezes up until I reset it.
If you are running Hacks, alternative menu programs or other programs that change the display of your home screen (e.g. SilverScreen), then one of them is probably the source of this problem.
Also, if you are running an add-on battery monitoring app, try disabling it as well.

i use Silverscreen and i have the modem module and it works fine...tried the 8MB module and no probs there either.
I have the backup module and if I remove my module when I am in the backup app, it freezes my Visor and I have to reset. I just have to remember to click the App/Home before I remove it......
Could be a hack...but it doesn't bother me enough to work on it.

I could understand it being a hack or app problem if the hack or the app were stored on the now-removed module. All of my hacks, hackmaster itself, my application launcher (Launch 'Em) and all of it's components are all in the internal memory. I did, however, disable all my hacks and try it. By trial and error, I discovered that when TealGlance 3.23B was activated, the problem re-appeared...even though TealGlance was set up to not activate on power-up and existed in the internal memory. Pretty wierd....
I have had the same problems that Rclayton has described. It just stinks when I forget to get out of the Backup application....
