-- weird things... (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=918)
OK - replaced the batteries for the first time today in my Blue VDX. As I took off the cover and took out the batteries I noticed what looks like initials written in white out (and they arent mine
). Apparently I did not notice this when I first got the unit, probably cause I was in such a rush. These initials, "TD", are underneith the batteries hidden from view if the batteries are in. The other pair of initials are written on the actual battery compartment cover. These initials appear to be "T2". I am fairly certain that white out was used to write these also. Anyone have any idea as to what this could mean? Perhaps it is something that is done during manufacturing, but it almost seems more likely that someone branded the unit as theirs for easier recovery in case of theft because these scrawlings were DEFINITELY not made by a machine (they are much to sloppy and not uniform). Any ideas?
Weird indeed!
Is this a new unit, or a replacement unit for a returned Visor?
I have a replacement unit, and mine has the letters "FT" in "white-out" under the lower battery. Hadn't noticed until your post.
Anyone else?
tyler
My visor is a new unit, and it has "T3" inside the battery cover.
They seem to be machine printed, by a sloppy machine with sopping ink.
They do look like white-out, but they have a hard edge inside the slop which appears to come from the edge of a stamp.
Just a thought... perhaps they are some sort of final inspection code? You know, the last pair of eyes to see it before it's packaged.
Maybe others can post what they find inside their battery compartments (wishing I had my own battery compartment to look at).

My IVDx has T5.
tyler: no, this was a new unit.
I guess the problem is solved. Apparently these were machine made, or . It just kinda freaked me out, because I thought I might've gotten a refurburished unit instead of a new one. Thanks
.
I agree with winchell.
My IVDx has FT1
My OVDx has FT5 in the battery compartment. Nothing on the battery cover.

Hi,
I have some thing, maybe a side ways 3 in sloppy white paint or ink under the batteries. There is a sticker with a bar code (with a bunch of letters and numbers unser the bar code) on the inside of the battery cover....
Oh.... it's an IVdx
Regards,
Rob
noooooo!!!! my battery cover says t3 and my visor says ft1. oh well
My IVD has F16 behind the batteries and MT6 on the battery cover.
If you look above the right corner of the battery cover in the visor(for those of you with clear backings) does it say REV A? Mine does. Does anyone have a different revision #? Just wondering
