Question

I am thinking of buying the ShockSuit SportCase. I have heard some good comments on this case, are there any short comings? Can you hot sync with it in the case or do you need to remove it? This will be my first pda and I want to be able to protect it and yet still have it be usable.

Thanks for your opinions...

I received my ShockSuit last Monday.

You will have to remove your Visor in order to hot sync it in the cradle. However, if you have the optional USB cable, there is a rectangular opening at the bottom of the case where you could plug the cable directly into the Visor and hot sync it without removing it from the case.

The IR port is completely blocked due to its location on the Visor.

The clips that hold the stylus look like they could break easily.

I think this case will do a very good job of protecting your Visor. Also, the belt clip is very cool.

I was a little disappointed with the fit and finish on my ShockSuit (I am very picky about these types of things). There is some glue oozing out of the corners where the foam is attached, and there was a bit of glue on the back of the case as well.

I think this case would be a better value at $20 to $25. It is a little overpriced at $35. However, one could argue that if it prevents your Visor from being damaged, it is worth every penny.

A lot of people seem to love this case. I like it, but I don't love it. I'm not planning on returning it, though, so you can count me as a satisfied customer.

Sorry for being so long winded.

There is some interesting positive and negative discussion about that case at http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/ubb/Fo...TML/000001.html

Thumbs up

I got my Shocksuit from Rhino yesterday in just 1 day! I wish Handspring would do the same with my Visor! The suit looks good and will hopefully do the job whenever my Visor arrivers. Till than I am Visorless!!!!!

Cool

I'm selling my Shocksuit. Asking $24.99 + Cost of Mailing. Brand New condition. Contact me by E-mail: [email protected]

The Rhinoskin Shocksuit is Excellent in terms of protection. I had my visor slip form my hand a few times - with the Shocksuit on , no worry. Given my track record of clumsiness, I will be investing more money to Buy the Titanium case.

Unhappy

I purchased a RhinoSkin Shocksuit about a week before my Visor arrived.

I was not at all impressed by the fit & finish of something I paid $34.95 for. The hole in the top of the case where the Visor slides in was cut crooked, and once inside the Visor moved left and right.

It just didn't feel right in the hand trying to use the case. I just expected MORE from something that cost so much.

I returned it for a full refund. I'm happy with the stock slip case from Handspring and will probably evaluate another case in the future.

Cheers,
~Mark
