I'd say yes. I use the Stowaway to take notes at meetings, and apart from the occasional scribbled diagram, I've found it very useful indeed. There's a bit of a lag between hitting the keys and seeing the results on screen, but if you type without looking at the Visor anyway, it's not a big problem.

The hard surface you need for the Stowaway is an issue, but I assume most of your classes will provide desks. You might want to take a ruler to measure how wide they are -- the unfolded keyboard might droop over the side a bit.

Code Warrior is arguably the best development environment, but it isn't the easiest. You have to be a skilled C and C++ programmer to make it work.

I just wanted to thank all of you for your well thought out replies to my post. I really appreciate it. It's what makes forums like VC's so useful. I believe I will get a Stowaway now--probably in mid-late August. (No need to get it until school starts). I'll keep an eye out for deals.

My Stowaway shipped last night, about 5 hours after I placed the order. I don't see what all the fuss is with Buy.com--this is pretty good service! It's shipping from Illinois too--so I should get it on Wednesday. Glad I didn't get 2day shipping! If you use one of the coupons--in conjunction with their great price--(I paid $74 for mine + $5 ground shipping)--you've got yourself a near GoType price (but you get the Stowaway!) I'll be sure to tell you guys how it goes when I get it.

I think you made a great choice. Also, I haven't had any problems with seeing the screen in dim rooms. Let us know what you think after you open it up and play. And, by the way, Happy Birthday!!
