mltl has found a FlashROM inside his VPL, I've found one in mine (although a different make-AMD compared to his Hyundai). And some VPR users have found it as well. What could this mean and do for Visor?

Prism and Platinum have Flash ROM. This is one of the improvements with the newer systems.

If you recall there is a Flash ROM upgrade for Prism on the HandSpring Website. (Some people hated the upgrade but I found it to signifcantly improve the Graffiti character recognition which I had found to be rather buggy.)
This upgrade is also different than the upgrade for the Deluxe from last year that is lost if you have to do a hard reboot.

No that update is stored in the Prism's RAM, not flash.

You have to read all these threads carefully. Not all VPL/VPR have Flash. Most of them have OKI OTP memory.
