-- HotSyncing the Visor (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=2253)
Help! I have gone to both Chapura tech support (very nice people) and Handspring tech support and no one can figure out why my visor will only sync Outlook Mail.
For everything else (calendar,contacts,tasks,notes, etc) the "darn" thing won't sync. The log states:
synchronization failed
--Outlook Contacts (or whatever)
Failed to locate correct profile. (80040502)
Error connecting to Outlook.
Error Code = 101d
I am running Outlook 98 on Windows NT and have Pocket mirror installed and have gone through the profiles with both tech help groups. No one can figure it out and after spending a total of 3 hours on hold to talk to someone with Handspring I'm ready to send the thing back and get my money back but if I could get it to work would keep it.
Everything else on the visor I like but if I can't even get my contacts to sync in what use is the thing?
Please anyone help this is my last ditch effort for answers.
I don't know what all has been done, but I would do the following:
<UL TYPE=SQUARE>
<LI>Uninstall PocketMirror
<LI>Uninstall Palm Desktop
<LI>Delete any Outlook profiles completely. <LI>Click Close then go back in and create a new one.
<LI>Reinstall Palm Desktop
<LI>Reinstall PocketMirror
<LI>Cross your fingers and try it.
</UL>
You are installing all of this with admin privilages on the NT box right??

Thank you thank you thank you.
I think crossing my fingers is what did it. Anyway, it is finally syncing my contacts and tasks now.
I AM SOOOOOO HAPPY.
Now I can give my visor a real testdrive.
Thanks again for the prompt reply.
I'm glad it worked. I also do Outlook/Exchange Server support, and you wouldn't believe how many things are fixed by removing and readding the MSX profile.
