-- Survey: How do you carry your Visor? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=10715)
My wife, a doctor, lugs a backpack to work each day. She has her Visor in a zipper case, riding in a pocket of the backpack.
I'm undecided how I'll carry my platinum to work with me. It's thicker and heavier than the old Casio Digital Diary I'd been using. That Casio fit in my shirt pocket so well that I often forgot it was there. The Platinum is 1/4" thicker, and seems about twice as heavy. I'll agree it's a much more functional device, but it's not looking much like a shirt-pocket one.
That leaves my belt. My wife has owned several cell phones, and all have come with a belt clip case. I think it's a shame Handspring doesn't include one with it's pricier models. That cheesy "free" slipcase won't do, so I'm looking for a belt-clip solution.
How do YOU carry your Visor? This curious mind wants to know. Ladies, would you carry yours like a purse if it had a nice strap on it? I may be putting some rings and a camera strap on my slipcase. It can't hurt.

Rhodiana
I've got the Rhodiana case with the optional belt clip. It's very nice and well made, but, frankly, I can't take the redicule of my colleagues. It took me long enough get over that from high school!

I second the Rhodiana belt case. Even though most people here at work have PDA's, few carry them on the belt.
My "nice" case is the E&B Slipper belt case.
My "rugged" case (which I really haven't used yet) is a Grindergear Basecamp.
I slip it into my pant's pocket. I can usually forget's it there but it has enough wait that if I think about it I can it's still there.

I use a E-Runner from Day Runner. It has a pocket on the outside and one on the inside for PDA's, cells and etc. I removed most of the Day Runner product and placed note paper and a copy of the graffiti strokes.

I'm still using the slip case for my VDX and just dropping the unit into my tote bag, purse, whatever. I'm in the market for a decent case, but I'm holding off until I get a Stowaway Keyboard. I looked at the combo case for that and was instantly turned off. I'll probably go with a "sport" style case, but I'm absolutely opposed to putting velcro on my Visor (yuck!). I seem to remember a case made specifically for multiple items from Rhinoskin, but I don't see it on their website.

My Visor is in a Rhodiana case, but I carry it in a LandWare BurroPak sholder holster.
http://www.landware.com/burropak/palmos/index.html
I have been looking into the E-Holster
http://www.eholster.com/
I'm reasonably happy with the BurroPak, especially since I can carry my Visor and my Stowaway folding keyboard in it.
It isn't obvious when I wear it, since I habitually wear black T-shirts. I just don't make quick grabbing motions towards my Visor when in the presence of a nervous policeman or anybody else who would find threatening a concealed weapon...
It is very convenient, the Visor has added protection from my arm covering it, it won't fall out if I bend over, and it won't pop off my belt.
I like it!

RhinoPak 2000
I carry my VDx around in a RhinoPak 2000. Once I got over the "European carryall" connotation - my wife still hasn't - I found it to be extremely flexible.
Outside front pocket - Backup module, eyemodule, and SpringPort modem
Inside front pocket - VDx, face toward the felt
Inside back pocket - Stowaway keyboard
Outside back pocket - Drivers license, credit cards, cash, receipts, etc.
It does get a little bullky, but I can't find a case to hold this much in this small a space.
Before my Prism I carried my Deluxe in the belt clip case from Palm. It worked pretty good, but now my Prism is too fat to fit in it right, and the few times I did carry it around in it it rubbed the paint.

Well, I like to have my little handy Visor at my side at all times. Fortunately, I often wear a coat with that strangling tie....So I often wear it on my belt in a very simple belt holster.
I used a similar one for other PDAs....By Reeline...the RIPOFFS version of the PDA case....Search the web for RIPOFFS and their california web address should pop up.
It is simple, hides below my jacket, and is always accessible. It is also quite tough.
Of course, if i loose the jacket, it is major geek time. Although, with one's productivity and organization, I am sure you would be the envy of all......At least while you run to the bank with your raise......
I just carry mine in my left jeans pocket. I feel lopsided if I'm not carrying it...
I'm thinking about the case that inspired "Any non-geeky cases out there?" It looked kinda cool. And would let me carry coins in that left pocket again

I carry my VPL in the original slip case in a padded pocket of my book bag I bring to school. I'm still struggling to find a comfortable way to carry it when I don't have a book bag w/ me (ie. outside of school).
I generally carry my Visor in my hand because I just can't get a good grip with my teeth (or toes)!!!
Actually, at first I was a faithful E&B Slipper user, but I got tired of the velcro. Currently, I'm using the Handspring Sport Case because my Visor must be at my side (what can I say, I'm a belt case kinda guy)
. When I am forced to put on a suit (luckily, not very often), I just carry my Flip-Clip protected VDx in my inside jacket pocket.

I used to carry my VPR in the 3Com belt holster that I used for my Palm Pilot.
Now that I have the Minstrel-S I use a light blue padded case by Case Logic which is also on my belt.
If anyone teases the "Gadget Guy" I just whip out the VPR and check my email and show them the freeway webcam of a traffic accident. That usually leaves them in the "WOW" mode.
As for looks, my tagline says it all.

different stuff
I am fickle in how I carry around my visor:
Sometimes I carry it with no cover, no case, no nothing, just stuck in a cargo pants pocket.
Sometimes I carry it inside an EB Slipper belt case clipped to my belt.
Sometimes I carry without a case, inside a Rhinopak 2000, along with my Stowaway keyboard.
Sometimes I carry it in its EB Slipper, inside a Rhinopak 2000, along with my Stowaway keyboard.
Sometimes (rarely) I carry it in my shirt pocket with no cover or case.
I can just never seem to find the perfect way to carry it... in the past I have also used the hard plastic cover, the handspring cheesy slip case, and the 'hacked' flip cover made by taping a cut-up slipcase onto the hard cover.
*sigh*

I use the rhino skin 3000. There is enough room for my Visor Prism, Targus Stowaway and several Springboard module or misc. items. The case can be converted to several carry positions:
1. Hand Carry.
2. Shoulder Carry (strap included).
3. Fanny Pack.
4. On Your Belt.
It's been almost a week of carrying my Visor too and from work, and the front shirt pocket has always been where it rides, with slipcase on.
But I don't like the heavy feeling on my chest. I'm used to an old Casio PDA that was half as thick and 1/3 the weight.
I don't want a bulky case, though. I have no interest in carrying business cards or anything else WITH my Visor. My business card is IN my visor. If it's not IN my visor or my wallet, it's not with me. I'm interested in PALM's announcement of using your PDA as an electronic transaction device. If I could eliminate cash and credit cards, and scan my other ID cards into my Visor, I wouldn't even have to carry a wallet. How long do you think it'll take the world to catch onto this idea?
I'd planned on adding a beltloop clip to my slipcase, but there's no free fabric to hook onto. A gromet hole isn't feasible.
Still looking. There's got to be a perfect solution. I haven't seen it yet.

I use a cell phone case that's a few years old. One side has grips for pens and stuff, that's where I stick my VDx, the other side is larger w/o any additions which is perfect for the Stowaway. Don't know if they make it anymore though. The whole thing has a handle on the other side to carry it with, but it normally stays in my bookbag. I sometimes keep my Flip-Clip protected Visor in just my cargo pocket. GayDar comes in handy for laughs in the locker room or before classes
