I have tried to call 4 times to the new CSR phone number @ 1-716-871-6442, and have had NO luck getting through!! I get put on hold, here the music, then a busy tone....gonzo!! I have a very strong feeling that they have got my shippng address wrong, and am getting pretty piised off waiting on hold forever! Has anyone had any success with this new phone #?

Yes, I have figured out how it works, and they are actually doing us a favor with it.

I think they have two cues; a super-long wait cue, and a short-wait cue. The super-long wait cue has a man's voice saying, "Thank you for calling Handspring..." and the short-wait cue has a woman's voice, "Thank you for...(you know the rest!)"

I'm guessing, in an effort to save us long distance toll, (or for whatever reason, I don't know) they automatically disconnect us if we overflow into the super-long wait cue after about 15 seconds of waiting. I have had two experiences with getting through; in the first, I got the woman's voice, "Thank you for calling Hand--(oh shut up already )..." and about 2 minutes later I got a CSR. The last time I called, I would hang up everytime I got the man's voice, until, finally, the CSR answered my line directly with (thankfully) no "Thank you for calling Handspring..."

The short of it: if you call, get through, and get the man's voice, then hang up immediately, and redial, until you get the woman's voice or the CSR.

Is this helpful?

Actually both the 888 and 716 numbers cut me off repeatedly.

Then I got through on both, and was on hold for hours.

On one line the man's voice switched to that womans voice after 45 minutes, but with the same musak playing in between announcements.

Just tried redialing the 716 number over an over to try anf get the female recording. After the 7th redial of getting a male recording, I got the female voice recording............, unfortunately to find out that she would tell me that the CS line is now closed. What a joke! I have now redialed several times on the 888 number and have gotten a female recording and am waiting impatiently on hold. I wouldn't be so persistent if I wasn't quite sure that my address was screwed up!
