I don't use most of the preinstalled programs that came with my visor, such as Datebook and expense, and I would like to delete them for the space. But if I do, will that erase them permanently? Or when I do a hard reset, will they come back?

The built-in apps are burned into ROM and cannot be deleted.

One way to ignore them is to either place them all in the Unfiled category or create a seperate category called Misc or something and place them in there.

Can't delete them

As far as I know, the built in apps are in the ROM and cannot be deleted. The only thing the apps keep in RAM is their database files, so if you don't use them, they really aren't taking up much room anyway (maybe a few K).
