Question

Has anyone been able to download and store the daily weather for their city from the Weather Channel using AvantGo during a HotSync? I added The Weather Channel to my list of AvantGo site. I can pull up the opening page asking for city or zip. I put my zip or city and it says info stored... will update on next hotsync. I hotsync, pull up the weather channel page and get the same screen again with no weather. Any ideas?? Thanks.

Sorry, I have Weather Channel as one of my AvantGo channels and it syncs fine. I only had to enter my zip code the first time and it now updates my local weather with each hot-sync.

I don't know if this helps, but I had a similar problem when requesting directions from Mapquest. I would enter the request again and again, but when I would check after a hot sync, it would be the same request page. Then I was cruising the menus when I came across the "Forms Manager" under Channels and there were about 4 copies of the directions I requested.

My Weather Channel doesn't update through the Forms Manager, but maybe yours does for some reason.

I hope this helps.

I also had a problem with it telling me that it had my zip code and would update the next hot sync. It didn't, I then put the zip code in again, and immediately hot synced, all ok now.

I use Weather Underground (www.wunderground.com) for AvantGo. Just sync the Print This Page url for your city.

Cool

If you live in small town that is not covered by the Weather Channel try using the next largest one close to you, I had this problem also. Try going to the Weather Channel web site first and see if your city works there, If it doesnt it will tell you the closest city.
