Upgrading from a beat up Pilot 1000 (with an equally beat up Pi-lid) to a blue VDx

Started with a Palm Pilot Personal, Then upgraded it with the 2Mb Memory and IR package, and now (well within ten days from now) a graphite Visor Delux.

Cool

I've had many PDA's:

1st I had a Sharp Wizard....
Then I "upgraded" to an Apple Newton (believe me, in many ways, this was no upgrade).....

Since then, I've had a series of Palm/PalmPilot/Pilot PDAs -- a Pilot 5000, a PalmPilot Professional, and (now) a Palm III......

Even though I've been treated like poo by Handspring's "Customer Service", like so many others, I am still anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Blue Visor Deluxe.

Thumbs up

I was a PalmIII user who was forced to return it before leaving my last job.

My boss was at Internet world and felt that the Visor looked too "Gameboyish" in the colored cases.

With all of the delay associated with the Visor, I'm now upgraded to a PalmV.

It may only be 2mb, but quite honestly I have the apps I use and I'm still only just over 1mb full.

Upgrading from nothing...an assortment of paper dayplanners, address books, slips of paper, and my own faulty memory.

Never bought a Palm before because they cost too much. Visor's price was what appealed to me.

Cool

Visor is my first PDA. I planned to buy a IIIx until I started hearing about Handspring.

I chose Visor Deluxe for 3 reasons:

1. 8 megs memory
2. expandability through springboards
3. colors

(in that order). The price was close enough to the IIIx to be less of a factor. Although cost was certainly a factor in not choosing the Vx.

If I ever get it - upgrading from a Cassio E-10. If I don't get it by Wed. I'm going to refuse shipment and get a Palm 5x.

I'm upgrading to a Visor Deluxe (graphite) from a slew of post-it notes and a 1/2 dozen note-pads. The only thing that held me back from a PalmIIIx was the cost.

Wink

Went from a Palm III (gave to my wife), to Palm IIIx (sold for cost of Visor ), to Visor. Improving all the merry way.

I bought a Pilot 5000 when they first went on sale in San Diego (got it at Egghead, IIRC). When the PP Pro came out, I got the Professional upgrade card for my P-5000. It still runs like a champ, but I needed more space. I got my graphite VDlx on 10/25.

I currently use a Palm V, will be upgrading to a Visor Deluxe. Like more memory and the Springboard technology.

I'm surprised by all the firt timers and non-palm users.

I had a Palm Pro. Upgraded that to the 2MB w/IR. Then sold that and bought a Palm III. I upgraded that to 8MB and now I have a blue Visor Deluxe on order.

I have been a happy Palm OS user for almost three years now. I have looked at wince but it pales in comparison to the Palm Devices.

I'm upgrading (when I receive it) from a bunch of scraps of paper and post-it notes; most of them with phone numbers and no names so I never know who they're for.

Cool

I had a PalmPilot Professional for somewhere around 2 1/2 years that I used very often. It's a great tool, but all in all, it's been back to 3Com for repairs twice! Once with a warranty repair, once with a cracked screen, and I just replaced the batteries and the thing won't start up and it's out of warranty.

So I could do the $100 repair thing, but that would be a waste as for $150 more, I get 8 times the memory, a scientific calculator (big plus when you're in chemistry), the springboard thing, and a lot more!

So tonight I just ordered a Blue Visor Demon ;-) ...

I am a very satisfied Palm III user but I need more memory (I use AvantGo, DateBk3, HanDBase, ToDo Plus, QMate, etc. with FlashPro) so I ordered a graphite Visor Deluxe. Before that I had a Palm Professional (upgraded), Newton 120, and a Casio Boss.

hey vflopez, do you still have that newton? I have a IIIx and a visor (blue in NJ) but would really want to get a newton (being an uber Apple nerd)

I'm updating from a Palm Personal, that I added 2MB to, then proceeded to drop and break the screen. Instead of paying $100 to fix it, I was going to upgrade to a Palm IIIx--until I heard about the Visor. I ordered the Blue Deluxe yesterday on the web page.

Here's hoping it shows up on time.
