Question

I'm considering taking advantage of the free Minstrel S modem from Yada Yada. But first I would like to know some of your experiences with wireless modems in general, or specifically if you wish. How is reception? Are the download speeds acceptable? What has been your experience with non-handheld optimized sites? What do you use it for? Do you find that it makes your life simpler? Do you use it for entertainment or porductivity? Do you think the price for service is acceptable? (I mainly ask this question because I can get DSL service at home for $10 less. Granted I can't take it with me, but that's another topic.) Thank you for your input.

Does anyone know when the free offer from Yada Yada expires?

Wink DSL or Wireless?

Swendor - Omnisky user on both Prism and Palm Vx setups. Can't speculate on yadayada but without a doubt you will not want to wait for webpages to load on a wireless modem that connects at 19,200kps.

Browsing non-wireless type pages is totally useless in my mind. However, there are enough pqa files to load for just about anything that I use wireless for such as:
Maps or directions, email, stock quotes and trading, restaraunt locations reviews etc.

If you stick with text based systems then it is worth it but if you want to go browsing and you've got DSL then you will be dissapointed.

That's my 2c worth.
