-- Can you recommend a program... (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=1296)
I need to store some MS Excel and MS Word documents on my Visor and be able to read them. Editing would be nice, but not critical.
Can anyone recomend a Palm program that works well on the Visor Deluxe?
Thanks,
Aaron
Try Documents To GO by DataViz. You should be able to download a free trial at www.palmgear.com, it works well for viewing Exel and Word docs.
Hope this helps

I use Quicksheet and SmartDoc by Cutting Edge Software. It allows you to edit both excel and word documents as well. (word documents must be installed via word doc > text > palm doc. (There are quite a few free convert programs out there....one that even sets up a menu item in word itself to save as a Palm Doc! can't remember the name of that one)

Guys,
Thanks for the replies, both suggestions look like good products, but they are too expensive for me.
My immediate need is a program to display 3-4 documents on my Visor (a user list, a couple IP address spreadsheets, and a couple other word docs with info about my network) I really can't justify spending $40+ on a program that will see limited use.
So, I repost my previous question:
Anyone know of a program to display MS Word and MS Excel files on the Visor? (for cheap)
Thanks,
Aaron
I think I may have a solution if you want to view Excel files on your Visor. MobileDB lite is a free database viewer for Palm OS. MobileDB-PC is a (free) PC companion program that allows you to create and edit databases on your PC. I just tried it, here's what I did with a small Excel file:
1. Save the Excel file as a comma-separated value (*.csv) format. This is what Mobile DB-PC likes to import.
2. Open MobileDB-PC, go to the File menu, and choose Import. Find your file, it will bring it up to view or edit.
3. Click on the Icon that looks like a Visor (OK, it looks more like a PalmPilot to me, but we're all Visor people here!), and you're ready to install next time you sync!
both are available at www.palmgear.com
This may not be the most elegant solution but it's not too much work. And if you can get by without the ability to edit on your Visor, you can't beat it for the price!
