-- Case for Belt with slide thru loop? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=3786)

Question

Any cases out there that have a loop for sliding the belt thru? Too many stories of clips breaking or coming off the belt. I am looking for something more solid. Would like leather but other will work.

Thanks
Tom

Try ThePouch (www.thepouch.com).

The webpage isn't too impressive, but the pouch sure is. I really like it. It is a neoprene case for the Visor with a velcro cover. The loop is a slide through type, but better. Most slide through types require you to remove your belt first. This one has a 3M clip which clips the two sides of the strap together around your belt. So the case is looped around your belt, but can be released without removing your belt. I have taken this everywhere, and it won't come out no matter what you try (in and out of cards, up and down from chairs, etc). If you want to know more about it, call them. They're really nice on the phone and have a great product. It sells for about $20 I think. Also, the case has a small pocket on the back which could accomodate a springboard. Plus, due to the stretchy neoprene, I imagine that oversized sprinboards would be no problem.

Tom,

Depends on what you're after, if you want an everyday case I can't help you. If you want a case just for hauling then maybe I can!

Well let me explain, I've got a visor (slim case so no clip) I wanted to carry it and my cellphone around (no clip for that either). I noticed that my minidisc case logic pouch has two pockets and belt loops (not clips). So I stuck the visor in one pocket and the cellphone in the other. Fits fine, gives decent protection, and they're available right away. Now I wouldn't wear this around the office, but in the field, I can't come up with anything better without resorting to a purse. (well this is almost as bad )

I bought a $5 neoprene camera case at Wal-Mart that does the job nicely. It has loops for the belt and the cover flap attaches with velcro with room to spare for an oversized module. It is cheap, protects my VDX and gets the job done. Extra modules will go in my briefcase or bag that I'm traveling with. I opted for cheap and simple so I can finance my software and modules.
