-- Yikes! - Defragment program does a number on my Visor (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=1890)
Before I found out that fragmentation of the RAM memory is not a problem with recent Palm systems, I installed and ran a little defragment utlilty app called Recycle. It didn't agree with something. My entire screen went black and then when I went to soft reset, I just kept getting a fatal error. Even after several hard resets, and loading apps and data back on, the Visor would still report errors where it didn't before. I finally went to just having my desktop override and load all the address and datebook info only and loaded all apps from scratch. I've learned a valuable lesson regarding the loading of just any piece of software I find. I had too much stuff loaded - Hack This and Hack That - I must be more careful - it took me two nights to work out all the problems. I got my Visor to make my life easier - I must remember that. Anyone else have a similiar experience with Recycle or any other defragger?
I may have jumped the gun a little. It may not have been the defrager utility Recycle at all that caused all my problems. Once you run Recycle, you have to do a soft reset. It just so happens that this was the first time I had to soft reset since I had installed Documents To Go v2.002. My reasoning is that I now just went back to reload DTG and did a soft reset as a test and whalla - same thing - had to to a hard reset. Anyone else experience problems with DTG?
I had the same thing happen with PDAprojects. So, DON'T INSTALL IT!
