-- date book question? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=538)

Question

I there a button combination shortcut or another method that will instantly take the scheduler to today's date. Or must one use the stylus and select today's date through the screen?

For example, on a Sharp electronic organizer, one just had to press FUCTION and DATEBOOK to be taken immediately to today's date. I found this to be very useful.

Question

However, to be more specific, what if you were adding a meeting on a date a month in the future, then turned the power off. I understand when the power is turned back on it will display the same screen (and last date) that was shown at power off. From this point, is there an instant method to return to today's date. If the Datebook button is pressed in this instance, does it return to the clock's current date or simply cycle through categories? or similar? like the memo or To Do buttons. I've never used a palm OS before, sorry for sounding ignorant. Thanks for the info.

When you press the Datebook button, it pulls up today's calendar. Pressing the button again goes to the weekly view for this week, and again goes to monthly view for this month.

Using DateBook+ (or Datebk3) tapping on the single day view (which you are actually already in) jumps to today's date from where ever you may currently be.

Find the "go" button in datebook's screen and choose "today." That's about as close to going right to today as I know of within datebook.

There are other programs which might help you out, like Agenda, which is a daily to-do/appt listing application. There are several others, but since I don't use them, I wouldn't advise you any further than to suggest you seek them out.

Since all of these applications are shareware, you can install them all and see if any of them suit your needs better than datebook, or the others.
