Being new to PDAs, I ask if it is normal for my VDX to emit a fairly quiet, yet very noticeable, humming or low buzzing noise when I turn on the backlit screen?

Perfectly normal. I owned a Palm III, and now I'm the proud owner of a IVD they both make the sound. I don't know why or how, but I'm positive they all do it.

There really isn't a buzzing sound. It's the sound your brain interprets as the radiation frys some of your cells.

To me it's just a lot of electrical noise since the power consumption is upped quite a bit while using it.

Can anyone who uses afterburner confirm it's a power thing? I dont' O/C my visor so I have no idea.
