Mandrake 8.2 ethernet connection problems...

Will someone PLEASE help me?! I cant tell you how many people said to helping me on #linux tonight

But you guys are the best group of people out on the net, i think so atleast.

I installed Mandrake onto my laptop tonight, and tried configuring the ethernet card. Its installed, but wont connect to the net. I have all the IP address and other numbers punched in. Still wont connect, any ideas?

I would appreciate all the help i could get, cause if i dont get this working, my dads making me install winblows back onto the laptop, wasting my 60 bucks
