- Springboard Modules (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/forumdisplay.php?forumid=10)
-- I wish I had bought a Palm VII (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=5430)
I bought the visor for two things: wireless connectivity and GPS in one unit. The Innogear 6-pack, if in fact not vaporware, will connect to my digital StarTac for wireless email capability. The MarcoSoft GPS will provide street level GPS, which I currently have with an engineered external (very large) GPS antenna. The Palm VII gives me the one real thing I am missing and would use every day.
Why am I pissed? Because Innogear and Marcosoft can't seem to keep a date. I will most likely lose, break, or upgrade the damn thing before I ever see a module that I will actually use. I bought the visor because of the things it was supposed to be able to do. The features that hooked me are yet to be seen. Excuse me if I expect to get what was advertised. If you are happy to be a sheep and mindlessly wander around waiting for companies to get around to you, fine. But don't tell me that I don't have a right to expect companies to put up or keep their damn mouths shut.
Delays happen. Everything from component shortages, bugs found during testing, etc can delay a product.
And if you think the Springboard module delays are bad, look at the video game industry. Zelda: Ocarina of Time was said to come out within a year of the Nintendo 64's release and ended up coming out three years later. Was it worth it? YES!
