Danchez:

I live in Saint Paul, MN. It's tough this year. Haven't completely warmed up to a team called the Wild yet, but I'm a lot more psyched than I thought I'd be. The new Stadium is actually quite nice (despite it's coroprate name) and, though it is no good-ol' Met Center (may it rest in peace) it is great to have the NHL back...and in Saint Paul, no less.

I still like to think of the Stars as 'my team' though...we'll see...

ARGH! i can't let a thread about Hockey go by!!!

let me start by saying...GO LEAFS GO!

ok...that's outta the way.

Sure Hkyslif, i'd say the leafs finish higher than the bruins this year....

I'm pretty excited about this season, the Leafs have done well the last 2 years and this year they've picked up some good players. In areas where they needed to 'bulk-up'

Unfortunately, living just outside of DC, i can only see the Leafs play twice a year against the Caps. (they're only scheduled down here 2 times a year )

I haven't been part of fantasy league for about 4 years now.

I think the age that everybody has talked about in the past when referring to Dallas is finally going to bite them in the a**. I think you'll see a noticable decrease in quality this year from the Stars. Those guys are getting old. But then again, nobody really knows, not even the players.

Look at last year's Rangers...all that money...all that talent! and they didn't make the playoffs!!!

Here's to a good season, thanks for bringing up the topic!!

Hey! At least give me ONE team to look forward to for a WINNING season. Seems like we have a more than a *few* aging team here in Dallas.

It is going to be a very interesting season watching the Stars. And, yes, I already know Colorado whipped them good last night, I was there... but they were uhhhh... trying new stuff and it was just a pre-season game, nothing important.

Ahh...but isn't that the great thing about hockey? You can play pretty much as long as you want. I can't think of another contact sport where people can have such long careers. I also think it is a sport where women and men can play together and be fairly even. It'll never happen, but if it were to happen in any sport, I think it'd be hockey.

sowens..I'm not too sure about the Sabres this year, did they ever sign Peca?

Hoser, I meant head to head, not overall standings...waddaya think I'm nuts? Anyway, the B's backup goalie broke his ankle stumbling out of a bar the other night and the starter's just coming off knee surgery in the off season. Anybody got an extra?

Hkyslif,

I have a good friend up in Ottawa who is a MAJOR Bruins fan...i think i'll stick to just laughing at him

Not a good preseason for goalies eh? Cujo has a groin injury, Olie down here in DC goes through knee surgury and now you're telling me about the 2 up in boston...sheesh!

Ok, Hoser. I take a lot of guff though, so expect to hear from me if some kind of miracle happens over the course of the season.
