-- Adobe upgrade!?!? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=1037)
So far have not cared a bit about the whole upgradable os stuff.
But i have to say that i am perplexed at the fact that palm will incorp. adobe into its os in the future. this opens up a huge door in loading anything you can save as an adobe file in to you handheld.
i hope that handspring can get a patch program to allow us that are with palm 3.1h to take advantage of this.
but maybe by that time apple will have its "ipalm" out w/springboard and i'll just up grade to that.

PDF's that would have any more functionality than a standard DOC file are guaranteed to be BIG and SLOW to render. Don't worry too much about this as I figure it won't be till the next generation of hardware/OS before it's a realization. Until then, there is an online service (the name escapes me) that will take a .pdf from any url you specify, and (crudely) convert it to .html. You could then massage that into a Richreader file.

There are currently a few free conversion tools available for UN*X systems that will convert pdf to just about anything you could want. You have to pass through a few intermediares before reaching a pdb but I have used them for converting some text pdf to the visor. If anyone is using a UN*X system the files are available with the xpdf viewer.
Intallbuddy now converts pdf files to Palm DOC format which can then be viewed by any DOC reader. You do lose images in the transfer, however.
