woah = new visor edge - scared.
woah, i jsut bought a brand new visor edge, and afer reading how everyone think it a mistake, should i return it ASAP?
i want a PDA for:
a) easy and cheap access to internet on the go.
b) ability to write longish word documents/emails easily
c)ability to record lectures (approximately 1-2 hours worth of recodrings daily)
d)have a little fun when im bored/games
e) easy, useful, cool and plenty of upgrades/expansions if I ever find the money. (mp3/camera etc etc)
f) easy to find accessories (I am in UK - what is popular here, that i can get good deals, shop around, ebay for sprare parts/add ons etc without too much hassle?)
g) easy to recharge and lasts long enough without getting frustrating (at least 2-3 days without recharge)
h) something thats not gonna get obsolete within 6 months.
i) something that has good medical programs for it (i am a medical student)
j) something which has a good alarm and timetable (calender) planner.
my price range? 150-175. (thats approx $275 or less)
i am thinking of returning the visor edge and going for something else, pleeeeease recommend?!?! Thanks. Remember I am in UK and i want something that is popular enough to easily get hold of and spare parts. I think psion and psalm domiate here?!? dunno why i got a handspring. advice? thanks....
There is only one PDA that can do nearly everything on your list out of the box:
Handera 330.
Return your edge and get one.
...man.. I'd say more, but really that is all there is to say. Get a Handera, it ain't cute, but it's the best Mono PDA out there and well within your price range.

Agreed. Handera has one of the best alarms -- loud
My first Deluxe was soft... then I jumped over to a IBM c3 Workpad and the alarm was pretty loud, and I really loved it. But now, I'm with my soft Prism

I still love my Visor Prism
I would not have chosen an edge, esp. considering the lack of form factor on your list. And since color wasn't mentioned (or present in your current device), I'd say Handera (
)
