Backlight not working: screen is black

Help - after having no problems with my visor for 2-3 years, a few days ago the screen started to "flutter." I tried a soft reset and some other suggestions made on the palm support website, to no avail. Then, the next day, the screen became very dim, with occasional flutters. Moving the contrast and "brightness" buttons occasionally sparked a brief normal amount of backlight, but that would quickly fade into darker and darker screens. Finally, today: no backlight at all, and I can hardly make out any letters at all on the screen. DO ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT HAS HAPPENED AND WHAT TO DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM? thank goodness everything was backed up...but I don't know why I suddenly lost my screen. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!Help
