-- Need Help with MP3 Player Suggestions (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=24858)
Sony MP3 Players are known for giving people trouble while trying to upload MP3s that you've download it. You see sony has a a recording branch so releasing a regular MP3 Player is kinda a conflict of interests. Basically the mp3 player only allows you to upload MP3s that you've ripped off of a CD using the sony program, anything else is really hard (if not impossible) to get on the device. Now I am not sure i this thing still exists (I believe it does), but if it doesn't that is one cool looking mp3 player.

No, I meant that I am not sure if the problem still exists..Sony might've given in and gotten rid of the obligation for that 2nd generation MP3 Player.

Sorry Tool, I agree with Eric on this one but probably for different reasons. I find Music Match too complicated to use. I am just a casual user and am not familiar with all the things it can do.
Unfortunately I have not taken the time to find another MP3 ripper and am stuck fumbling my way through Music Match. I want something so simple my mother could use it!

Music Match came with my intel mp3 player. I like it just fine. And I'm sure I will like it when my ipod (for windows) comes in late august.

My Treo 600 is my phone, my PDA, my watch, and my MP3 player. Oh yeah, I take a picture once in a while with it. Convergence is such a great thing.
I love the look and feel of those Sony's, but I would never buy one. You must use the MagicGate Memory Stick and it only plays secure music. Notice, nowhere in their info does it say anything about playing regular MP3's. It supports ATRAC3 (the Sony proprietary format) and Windows Media Audio or WMA's (which I would guess probably have to be protected).
This really irritates me, considering my CLIE will play normal, unsecured MP3's on regular Purple MemorySticks. I know it has to do with CopyWrite and I can appreciate that, but it still irritates me. Mostly due to the higher cost of the MagicGate Sticks.

Where's the best place to download MP3's these days?
Now I think this conversation is crossing the line and posting such information would probably be illegal on these boards.
Alex.
P.S. If Toolkit gives the go-ahead I can list a few.
I think everyone knows you can go to Cnet Download.com and grab some mp3 search tools:

Thank you all for the suggestions - still need to find one with an arm band! Why is it so hard to find one?!

The mpio is very small and you can put it on your keys.
No tuner though.

Felipe,
That MPIO-DMK is really cool! It's small, light, and best of all it has an arm strap!!!
Now I gotta find a deal on it...

The Ipod has the edge in size, weight, battery life (because of grayscale screen) and we know the navigational tools are awesome.
Archos has advantage in price ($100 USD less), expandability, and color LCD screen.
I don't know boys, its a tough one!
Sorry, confusing the Archos Jukebox with the Archos Multimedia. I guess one has a color LCD screen and the other does not.
Anyone wonder why Apple chaged the disc on the Ipod to a touch screen, did they have any problems or do you think it was a way to make the unit smaller?
