Anyone using SilverScreen? Does it take advantage of the Platinum's 16 shades of gray?

I'm trying 1.9.5 and it seems to use only 4 shades of gray.

There should be an option when in the silver screen launcher (which I think is great, megalauncher is nice as well). But, when in the launcher, hit the menu pull down on the graffitti pad and there should be a list of options, of which one is to use a 16 shade scale. There you go. Although it only applies this when in the launcher and not applications (I think) - had to take it off because I am surfing the edge of my 8mb already. Thinking about that 16mb upgrade. . .

The native launcher on the Platinum can display icons in 16-bit shades of gray, the problem is most apps don't include those icons. You can either assign new icons to the apps with silverscreen or create your own with RsrcEdit.

SilverScreen is using 4 shades of gray, not 16. Here's two reasons why:

1. When I select menu|Options|Gray Levels... the slider/bullet is dithered using only four shades. It is NOT a smooth transition, and it's clearly evident that the dithered pixels are of only 4 shades. Adjusting the slider makes no difference.

2. When I tap the Platinum's contrast dot to pull up the OS's contrast control, the slider is also distinctly dithered. When I run Launch'em (a veteran user of 3+ years now), and used their gadget to set the screen depth to 16 shades of gray, and then called up the Platinum's contrast control, it is a solid, smooth, transition from light to dark.

I've also tried loading Chromacast, but attempting to load a color themes causes an error saying color icons and themes can not be shown on this device.

Do any Platinum/SilverScreen users have any different results?

My config:
SilverScreen ver 1.9.5.1
Chromacast ver 1.0
Teal Master ver 1.12
Afterburner ver 3.0t
TrekSounds Hack ver 3.4
Teal Echo ver 2.30
SilenceHack 1.6
Visor Platinum w/ 16 meg ram (a Tony upgrade)
Modified to recharge batteries in the Visor
LED wired to TX pin (aka TaleLight)

I have found the only program that seems to take advantage of my Plats resolution is Fireviewer.

Silverscreen and everything else seem to ignore the Plats potential.
