-- 8 Meg Module and software (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=5171)
Does any one know if avantgo work if it and the web pages are put in the 8 meg module?
Are there any ploblems putting any of the bible version in the 8 meg module?

Can't say for AvantGo, but my gut says it should. Theoretically (I say this because I don't have the 8meg unit, yet) any data which is static in nature (i.e. the application doesn't need to write to it) should work in flash memory, and that's what the 8meg unit uses. Since AvantGo doesn't directly write to those files (they are added during syncing), they should work. Caveat
: I don't believe syncing ever puts anything directly into/onto the flash RAM, so you'd better have enough room for the AvantGo content in your main unit's RAM.

Well, I just tried, and this is what happened:
I moved ALL the files to the 8MB Flash module, and then ran AvantGo. It thanked me for installing AvantGo, and hoped that I had fun using it. I checked and it had created some files in internal memory:
AvGoFlagB
AvGoHistory
AvGoPref
AvGoVersion
My guess is that is could not read those files from the card, and thought that this was the first use and created them. I moved over only these files FROM the card, TO internal memory, over-writing the newly created files. No dice, same problem. I moved over all the channel information back to internal memory, leaving only the 236K application on the card. It seemed to work fine then. I hotSync'd and checked again, and it still seemed to work.
So, I would conclude that you can move the application file, but have to leave all the channel information internally.
As to whether your bible software will work on the card or not, it depends: what are you using? In James' review of the 8MB module here on VC, I seem to remember him saying that MyBible worked well. I just have a .DOC version of the KJV bible that I found somewhere and use a .DOC reader to view it. What I found (and this goes for all .DOC files, not just the Bible), TealDoc crashes when reading a DOC on the card, MobiBook won't even acknowledge a DOC on the card, and CSpotRun has no problems whatsoever with DOC's on the card.
