Yay!

Ok, I haven't ordered my visor yet..

And, I don't even have any PDA yet..

But, as soon as I DO order my Visor, I'll be ready!

I got 3 of the Digiwriters.

One of the chrome, gold and gun metal blue.

All are of great quality, have excellent stylus points, great casings (the actual pen)
, and I think like an earlier poster, that you could put in an ink refill (Not sure if you can use a brand different than Cross)

Anyway, my two cents are:

These are the best stylus for 2 bucks, (from what i've seen) though, they could use a little more weight..

Question

Do these stylii fit in the stylus section of the Visor? If they do, I'll go get one tonight. If they don't, I won't. I'd lose them.

No, unfortunately this stylus is MUCH too big to fit in the Visor's silo. It's a full-size pen w/ a great tip. I finally received my Graphite VDx and the instrument is great! It does anything but scratch the screen! I bought out my local office max at only $2 ea.

If you lose pens often, this might not be for you, but if you can hang on to it, it's great!

Regarding the first question about the Palm styli fitting in the Visor I ran into a review from one of the expos ... yes they fit ... but they are a tad larger and the case had to be taken apart to remove the Palm styli.

Thanks for the tip, off to OM. Cheerio!

I also wanted a heftier "pen." At the checkout stands, they have all sorts of pens that accepts standard Cross refills (Pierre Cardin, etc.) for $4.99. The Cross stylus tip is the same form factor as a standard refill.

I picked up a decent pen with a thick grip and that grippy stuff near the tip. The stylus thing screwed right it!

I also took the ink from the other pen, put it into the Cross body and gave it to a friend who loves Cross pens as a little present. I suppose you could buy the official Cross refill, too...

Now, if only the PHD pens accepted Cross refills...

The question was about the Cross DigiWriter "Classic" series styli which do NOT fit in the silo in any way without seriously damaging your Visor's case. I just wanted to clear this up... I'm sure what you say about the PALM stylus is correct.

Thanks so much for the tip

Wink

to wrp:

Reread the 1st paragraph of the original posting; question was about the PalmPilot styli which is what I responded to.

Angry

Now I know why I HATE HATE HATE going into those stores. I don't know about your home town, and apologies to any employees, but the workers at our local Office Max AND Office Depot are IDIOTS! The first employee told me that all discontinued merchandise is destroyed. The 2nd told me that they didn't have any and when I insisted he check he brought back a Cross Pad. Then he asked the guy behind the pen counter and he said they sold out yesterday. TYPICAL OF MY EVERY EXPERIENCE THERE. Arrrrrggghhhh!!!!!

ss@rr: Ahh, I see that now. You have my appologies.

Walt:
I have a chrome (same as picture above) for sale on the Buy/Sell/Exchange forum:
http://discussion.visorcentral.com/...TML/000098.html
I'm asking $10 (which includes shipping). I realize this is higher than the $2 at OfficeMax, but it's still a deal since the retail price is $18.50+ without shipping. First come, first serve. I had a gold stylus (Retail $40+) but it's been sold, pending payment.

Have a happy holiday season everyone!

Cool

All I have to say wrp... is THANKS!

Got my Graphite Visor Deluxe in the mail today and immediately hated the stylus. Went to Office Max and got the Chrome and Graphite Cross stylii for $4.xx total. Took em awhile to find em in the back, but I was quite happy when the guy came out with two of em.

Walt,
I have the same problem, too. I went to both local OfficeMax stores and described - in detail - what I was looking for and the initial response was, "Huh? We got those pens there. You mean like those?" At any rate, there were none to be found.

Cool

KentD,
Did you give the guy at Office Max the SKU number for the styli? The SKU number is listed in one of the previous posts (above). This way Office Max cannot screw up whether they have the stylus in stock.

later,
Peter

That was a great tip! I sure found the deal up here. I was able to take all five they had left at $2.00. The clerk was stumbled, but hey, that's business. I love the "Graphite" version, since it goes well with my GVDx.

Thanks for the tip. I picked up 7 of them. I have several gold ones (retail $29.99). I only want 2 so I'll trade the other ones for some registered software if anyone wants to trade. Looking for Aportis Doc, JFile or Quicksheet to name a few. or...I'll sell to the best offer.
